Art

With the addition of gallery space on Merrimon Avenue, we now have the opportunity to share the work of fine local artists we have met and grown to appreciate.

BlackBird offers you a variety of art resources:

  • We proudly show the work of local and regional artists whom we think represent the finest quality of work and value for our clients.  Currently about 25 painters, photographers and crafters show their work at BlackBird.  Some are displayed on this website - see the menu at left.
  • The extraordinary landscape photography of John Smith, Doug Cavanah and others, great choices for the Western North Carolina home or officeArtaissance
  • ARTAISSANCE, a new on-line resource for fine reproductions of art - thousands of images...order directly, shipped to your home or our shop, choose paper or canvas, and best of all, choose the exact size of your print

  • One-of-a-kind home accessories and furnishings, crafted by local artisans - folding screens by Chris Perdue_Transformation TableSlusher_PurpleScreenSlusher, steel fabrications by Warren Perdue, copper frames by Jesse Lee , ceramics by Les Powell and woodcrafts by Joseph Cunningham
  • Large in-stock selection of affordable reproductions and limited edition prints
  • Extensive catalog library -- thousands of images -- superior color rendition to most online resources.  But in case you'd like to preview some in the comfort of your own computer, here are a few of our favorite art websites with large collections for you to browse. If you see something you like, just tell us the source, plus either the artist, title and/or item number. We also have these publisher's catalogs in our showroom for a better rendition of color than you'll see on the computer.
